First 10 Pages

I have written the first 10 pages of Ekon’s Adventure. We did an assignment where we wrote the given circumstances of the character/story etc. It really helped. We also worked on the character diatribes. That most def. helped me write the story. I stayed up until around 2AM writing the first ten pages. For anyone interested I used Scripped great web-based scriptwriting tool. I will post the other screenwriting tools in a later post. I’m working on the idea on scripped. I will later post it so that people can comment.

Writing Ekon’s Adventure as a Screenplay

Okay so here is the update. I have started school again. Nearly done. Anyway I am taking screenwriting. I have decided that with this class I will be writing Ekon’s Adventure. I’m am still working on the novel series for Jabarl Bornu. This way I can do both of the series. I’m not sure, but I might even make them in the same universe and just have Jabarl as a spin-off.

Welcome to Imagine Wonders

Hello!  Welcome to Imagine Wonders.  I’ve been debating on whether or not to write a couple of story ideas I have as screenplays or novels.  Well I have decided that I am going to embark on the journey of writing a novel or novel series.  I use the name of Imagine Wonders as I am a sci-fi and fantasy fan.  I love stories that require imagination, and require a suspension of disbelief.  I am going to not only post updates, but also any advice is welcome as this is my first time writing a novel.  Hell I haven’t written a short story in I don’t know how long.  So if anyone has advice it is indeed welcome. I am also thinking of post short stories up. But I have finally decided which story I am going to focus on first.  It’s called (working title) Jabarl’s Quest and like the other is going to be focused on Children/Tweens etc.

How it all started.  Well I when I first learned about the Hero’s Journey as per Joseph Campbell I stumbled on a site called emuse.  You came up with stories, premises etc. based on the Hero’s myth/journey.  I used this to create a story Ekon’s Adventure (working title) in order to understand the characters of the Hero’s Journey as well as story structure.  Emuse was sadly taken away before I could finish, but I found another site similar that has since stopped taking new people on.  Anyways I named my Character Ekon= Strong, Morathi Naeem Zo (mentor) the rest were struggles to find names that fit them with the hero’s journey.  With this I came up with a premise about a boy in our world who ends up in an alternate version of Africa only to find out that he is the rightful heir to the throne.   In the beginning the story started out about a boy in another village finding this out (boy I was so into Sundiata Kieta. lol Love that story.)  Seriously people need to read African Epics.  This was somewhat during the Harry Potter craze and also Lord of the Rings.  Actually haven’t read the books (seen the movies and the old toons), but I didn’t want to come off as copying as I had seen so many fantasy novels that did just that.  Then I learned there is nothing wrong with that, that’s how writers learn, but that’s another story.  At that time there was a graphic novel or comic book series that was supposed to come out called Credence Walker.  That and I went to scriptsales a.k.a done deal and there was a script with the same premise in the script sales section.  So I was like well that beats that.  Now I understand a premise can be similar and be different and unique, because of everyone has their own unique take on an idea.

Now to get onto Jabarl’s Bornanu and the Legend of Bron (Working title).  I pretty much got sick of not knowing what I wanted to do with Ekon’s Adventure or where to start.  I took a break and came up with another story idea.  Again this is set in an alternate world.  I love the idea of immersing people in new places.  Plus I had just watched the Scorpion King and wanted to write a story with dog (animal) type soldiers.  Also a factor was again the names.  Can’t remember why I chose Jabarl, but I can remember why I chose Bron.  I was and am in to names and African and other POC names at that.  Bron (can’t remember what culture in Africa) mean origin.  So I decided that both our world and another world was in danger because someone was trying to steal the crystal of Bron and that was it.  T

Jabarl Bornanu and the Legend of Bron (notice the Harry Potter titling.lol) I did this with Ekon’s Adventure Search for the Secret kingdom etc.lol  Anyway I have chosen to stick with Jabarl’s story.

For all those who don’t know I have a channel at My Live Stream Science Fiction Fantasy Channel.  Haven’t done much with it.
